CMG Engineering Inc. is a locally owned and operated firm based in Kalispell, Montana, led by John Ayers, P.E. Since 2005, our mission has been to provide unbiased, accurate construction materials testing services throughout Northwest Montana—both in the field and in the laboratory.
To maintain the highest standards of quality and reliability, we actively maintain our laboratory accreditations and strictly adhere to AASHTO, ASTM, and MDT testing procedures.
Our project experience includes subdivisions, commercial buildings, hotels, airports, roadways, and federal highway projects, with current involvement in the Glacier National Airport Expansion, the FHWA Yellowstone National Park Bridge, Glacier National Park, and numerous local projects.
Fully Accredited Laboratory
Our laboratory is accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), ASTM, and the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL). To maintain these accreditations, our testing equipment is routinely calibrated and evaluated by AASHTO inspectors on a biennial basis.
In addition, we actively participate in the AASHTO Reference Sample Program, through which we receive standardized samples for testing in accordance with applicable test methods. Our results are then statistically compared with those of other accredited laboratories nationwide, providing an ongoing measure of accuracy and consistency.
Our laboratory is equipped with advanced testing equipment, including the Hamburg Wheel Tracking device, Micro-Deval apparatus, Pine Gyratory Compactor, Thermo Scientific Lindberg/Blue™ Muffle Furnace, and Instrotek CoreDry® system.
Certified Staff
Our staff includes a licensed Professional Engineer and a team of highly qualified technicians holding nationally recognized certifications through the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), and American Welding Society (AWS).(ACI), International Code Council (ICC) and American Welding Society (AWS).
